2. Is That Your Real Hair?
Alot of African-American ladies hear this one alot. At the end of the day what ever you purchase ladies belongs to you. So the next time someone asks this question, say hell yes! Don’t get fired though.
3. “You” people
See this one right here is the one that would piss me off and send me over the edge. You should never refer to anyone as “you” people, that’s one of the worst things you could say to someone.
4. Do you eat alot of…(plug in the offending stereotype here)
Not all Black people eat fried chicken and greens everyday. Open your minds up. What you eat does not at all make you Black or White.
5. Why are you so angry?
This one is more often directed at Black males, thanks in large part to the media, which often portrays Black men as being angry and/or criminals. One of the biggest false statements of them all. Black men are not always angry we are just always making sure we are being treated and respected properly. Point blank!
6. Why are you acting White?
This goes hand hand with the one below (you don’t sound black). How can anyone act Black or White? You are who you are inside no matter your skin complexion.
7. You don’t sound Black over the phone.
What does Black sound like? Come on is there suppose to be a certain language we use or something?
8. I don’t think of you as Black.
We’ll if someone says this to you then they must clearly need glasses. It’s either that or they are on that ish. Black is Black.
9. You graduated from where?
Does it matter? As long as you have a college education, don’t let this one get to your head. A degree is just a piece of paper. It’s all about what you learned while in school not what school you attended. A school name don’t mean ish!
10. The N-Word.
No comment on this one. It’s just not a good word to use no matter what your race background is.
